Given by Shiva Das, personal and close disciple of the yoga master, Swami Ramakrishnananda, founder-acharya of the Ramakrishnananda Yoga Vedanta Mission. Our Hatha Yoga classes are taught according to the classic and ancient Vedic tradition.
The sessions are 90-120 minutes long, consisting of physical postures (Asanas), breathing exercises (Pranayama), and relaxation (Shavasana). Our main emphasis is on enjoying the practice and on developing a higher awareness, by becoming more conscious of our body and mind. The classic Yoga Hatha is non-competitive, and every practitioner is guided to practice according to his own capability, in a loving and relaxed mood.
The practice prepares the practitioner for 'Dhyana'- Meditation. It rejuvenates the body and is highly beneficial to one's health and general wellbeing.
